Owners of Sony HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270 camcorders may now take a complete course on the operation of these new, advanced HDV camcorders without so much as leaving the comfort of their armchairs.

Vortex Media has just released their much anticipated three-hour, two DVD set, “Mastering the Sony HVR-Z7U and S270.” Both basic and advanced operation is covered in quite some detail.  The DVD workshop includes tutorials, step-by-step examples, and detailed instructions on the most important aspects of camera setup, menus, shooting techniques, exposure, the unique Memory Recording Unit, picture profiles, time code, audio, lens options, focus marking, shot transitions, clip importing, and workflow.

The course is taught by Rhode Island Videographer and Sony “I.C.E.” team instructor, Doug Jensen.

For those of you who have already taken his DVD course on the Sony PMW-EX1 Cine Alta XDCAM EX camcorder, you know what a meticulous and thorough approach Doug takes in these “must-have” training videos.

The set will be shipping about August 5th.   The two-disk set is $75.

For those who would like to take Doug’s course in person, Sony Broadcast and The Camera Company are hosting a FREE all-day seminar on September 12th at the Dedham Holiday Inn, covering the Sony PMW-EX3, EX1, HVR-Z7U and S270. The sessions begin at 9 AM.  An RSVP is requested.  A continental breakfast and box lunch will be provided as a courtesy at NO CHARGE.

For more information or to register for the workshops, call or e-mail Marty Feldman at The Camera Company, 781-769-7810 / mfeldman@cameraco.com.
