Panasonic AVCHD Evolution:
Why in the World Would You Still
Shoot On Tape or MPEG 2?"
There is no longer any reason to shoot
any production on tape or MPEG-2. If you are still shooting Standard Def, now
is the time to step up to Hi-Def. If you
are shooting HD on tape, now is the time to change to solid state. This presentation will explain the present
confused state of HD, and where it is all headed which is not tape based nor
using MPEG-2.
We will demonstrate the features of the
Panasonic line of Professional AVCCAM products; the extremely popular
AG-HMC150, the smaller AG-HMC40, and the AG-HMR10 stand alone recorder/player
and POVCAM. All of these products
capture stunning HD images using the industry-standard AVCHD codec, which is
MPEG-4 H.264. This codec is far, far
superior to MPEG-2 and we will show how.
The media is inexpensive and widely available SDHC memory cards. We will
discuss and show the workflow from acquisition, to post, to delivery and
finally to archive.
AVCHD capture opens
the door to a variety of distribution
and display options including; projectors, monitors, Playstation, Blu-ray, and
DVD. iPhone, YouTube and the web are
literally just a couple of clicks away.
We will also discuss how AVCCAM products interface and differ from
Panasonic P2 products and how you should base your decision on which product to
